John MatraBoard of SelectmenMy name is John Matra, and I am honored and excited to be running for a seat on the Board of Selectmen. I have been a full-time resident of Hebron since May 2019. My wife Patty and I moved here after retiring from a 36-year career in Human Resources. Having grown up in a small town in New York, most of my career was spent working in not so small towns - Washington DC, New York City, and Los Angeles. Our son Nicholas and his wife Debbie live in Los Angeles. Soon after arriving in town, I completed the “We are Hebron Citizen Leadership Academy,” in November 2019, which provided a great opportunity to learn about Hebron, how it functions, and what it has to offer. My local volunteer activities include the Hebron Green Committee, the Hebron Democratic Town Committee, and Meals on Wheels. Additionally, I am president of the Amston Lake Association. I am passionate about serving as Selectman and promise to bring a fresh perspective to the Board and will be an active participant in making decisions that will benefit the town and its citizens. I will be dedicated to ensuring that Hebron is a safe and enjoyable place to live, work, and play. My experience and insight will help move the town in this direction. Please support me and the entire Democratic slate of candidates with your vote on November 7 |
