Tiffany ThieleBoard of SelectmenTiffany V. Thiele is a resident of Gilead, where she and her husband, Adam, bought their first home in 2014. Since then, she has been proud to serve the town of Hebron with a focus on collaboration and consensus-building. An accomplished senior communications professional for over 17 years, Thiele began her career as a news and sports reporter, never shying away from asking the difficult questions from leadership to demand accountability for readers. She then switched careers as a result of the Great Recession, and moved on to assume various leadership roles in the nonprofit, quasi-public and private sector as an expert in crisis communications, media relations, and legislative affairs. Throughout her career, she has advocated for public transportation in Connecticut, girls’ and women’s leadership, sustainable technologies as an imperative for business growth, and the impact of a liberal arts education in today’s global society. A relative newcomer to politics, Thiele joined the Hebron Democratic Town Committee in 2017. She subsequently joined Hebron’s Capital Improvement as a Citizen-At-Large for one term. She became chair of the DTC in 2019. During her tenure, the DTC has seen tremendous growth in membership, activism and candidate recruitment, as well as increased outreach to surrounding towns to combine efforts in local and statewide elections. She was elected as State Central Committeewoman for the 19th District in 2020. Thiele’s volunteerism was instilled in her at a young age. She has volunteered for numerous causes including breast cancer research, animal welfare, climate change, and racial justice. She is a passionate advocate for small towns and will always fight for their unique needs to be heard at the state capitol and beyond. As selectperson, Thiele will reach out across the aisle and work together to keep taxes stable, while making important investments in Hebron’s community. One of her priorities includes researching the viability of a community center with a pool for local children. She is a strong advocate for education and teachers, and believes passionately in being a voice for the town’s great schools on the Board of Selectmen. |
